Asimenia Papoulidi is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology. She graduated from the Department of Psychology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and holds a second degree in Communication from the Open University of the United Kingdom. She completed her postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Institute of Child Health, University College London (UCL), and undertook clinical training at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service of Great Ormond Street Hospital (NHS Trust, UK).

She completed her doctoral studies at the Department of Psychology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, specializing in Developmental Psychology (with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation – IKY). She subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of West Attica.

For several years, she has been teaching in the Master’s Program “Applied Developmental Psychology,” while in the past she has also taught in the Master’s Program “Educational Sciences” at the Hellenic Open University. Additionally, she has previously taught courses in developmental psychology and psychopathology, early interactions, and the psychology of interpersonal relationships at the University of West Attica, as well as developmental psychology in the Annual Pedagogical Training Program at ASPAITE.

She has extensive professional experience, having worked for several years as a psychologist in both general and special education schools at the primary and secondary education levels. She has participated in national and international funded research projects (e.g., Horizon, Excellence/Aristeia) in collaboration with universities in Greece and abroad. Her scientific and research work has been published in Greek and international academic journals and books, and she has presented her work at scientific conferences in Greece and abroad.

Her research interests fall within the field of Developmental Psychology, with a particular focus on early mother–child interactions and the socio-emotional development of children and adolescents. More specifically, her work examines infants’ early communicative skills and the rhythmic patterns of mother–child interaction. Part of her research has been devoted to the comparative study of early interactions between typically developing children and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, her research focuses on the socio-emotional development of children and adolescents, with particular emphasis on emotion beliefs, emotion regulation, resilience, and life satisfaction.
