The first director of the Psychology Laboratory was Professor George Sakellariou, who held the Chair of Psychology. It was then housed in a simple apartment on Victory Avenue, near the White Tower. Twenty years later he moved to the present building of the Chemistry Department. From there, after many adventures and constant moves, he moved to the old and later to the new building of the Faculty of Philosophy. From 1939 until 1964, the Psychology Laboratory operated attached to the Chair of Philosophy. In 1964 it was re-established in the Philosophy Chair of Psychology with the title: General Psychology.
