Introduction to parent-infant psychotherapy
The Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CEDIBIM) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) welcomes you to the training programme entitled “Introduction to Parent-Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy”, lasting 415 teaching hours, which will take place during the academic year 2023-24 (November 2023-June 2024) and will be implemented through modern face-to-face, modern distance and asynchronous teaching.
The Programme is also taught by: Ioanna Ierodiaconou Benou, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and President of the North-Hellenic Psychoanalytic Society. Vasiliki Arvanitidou, psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Hariklia Peniou, psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Tessa Baradon, parent-infant, child and adolescent psychoanalyst (Anna Freud Centre, London) and Björn Salomonsson, psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and parent-infant psychotherapist (Karolinska Institute, Stockholm).

The Scientific Coordinator of the Programme is Evrynomi Avdi, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Director of the Laboratory of Applied Psychology (E.E.F.P.S.), Department of Psychology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.She is a clinical psychologist, drama therapist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She has extensive clinical and research experience in psychotherapy, training clinical psychologists in psychotherapy and providing clinical supervision. Since 2015 she has been working at a research and clinical level with the Anna Freud Centre in London, where she has attended training seminars on parent-infant psychoanalytic psychotherapy and conducts research in the field in collaboration with the Anna Freud Centre’s Child Attachment and Psychotherapy Research. She has extensive research and writing in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy.
