Threat Assessment of Bullying Behavior (TABBY)

The T.A.B.B.Y. (Threat Assessment of Bullying Behavior) program aims to increase awareness of the risk of using the Internet or any electronic means of communication, as well as to learn information and skills to protect oneself.
Many studies have shown that there are different types of cyberbullying and that cyberbullying is significantly related to – and often arises from – traditional bullying that takes place at school. For example, it sometimes happens that those who are bullied at school take revenge via the Internet.
The approach we have used in this Project takes into account a range of individual, social and environmental factors and explores how these factors interact over time to influence any anti-social behaviour.

The Tabby Project is European not only because its participants come from different European countries, but also because this method and approach will spread to other European countries. Our aim is to promote a climate in which the Internet is treated and used in a “safe” way. The ‘best practices’ will be shared so that we can help our children to enhance their well-being, reduce and prevent any anti-social behaviour and, finally, stop crime.
