Τα ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντα της κας Μωραΐτου εστιάζονται στην ψυχολογία της διά βίου ανάπτυξης και γήρανσης, σε θέματα μεθοδολογίας και αξιολόγησης καθώς και στον σχεδιασμό πειραμάτων στον τομέα της γνωστικής ψυχολογίας. Συγκεκριμένα, τα ενδιαφέροντά της έγκεινται στη μελέτη της τροχιάς των γνωστικών και θυμικών διεργασιών κατά τη διά βίου ανάπτυξη και γήρανση, στη θετική ψυχολογία της γήρανσης και στην ανάπτυξη των δυνατών στοιχείων του χαρακτήρα, στον σχεδιασμό και στην ανάπτυξη νευροψυχολογικών και ψυχομετρικών δοκιμασιών που μετρούν τη γνωστική έκπτωση στην υγιή και στην παθολογική γήρανση.
