Aphrodite Baka graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a degree in Psychology as major (1991) and then obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1995). In 2004, she completed her PhD in Social Psychology at the Department of Psychology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her research focuses on applications of social psychology in the fields of immigration, education, health and gender issues as well as of conflicts and political participation (collective actions, voting behavior). She has participated in research projects abroad and in Greece. She has presented her research at international and national conferences and has published papers in international scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings.

My research falls into the area of Social Psychology and focuses on its applications. Μy research mainly focuses, by the use of qualitative and quantitative methods, on the study of collective and prosocial actions and social identities as well as on applications of social psychology on issues of immigration, education, health, gender, communication and the media.
